Am I too old to learn guitar?

This is a question I get a lot as a guitar teacher. There seems to be a little bit of stigma around starting guitar lessons or picking up an instrument at later points in your life. To this I reply "There is never a bad time to start learning!". Lets say you started to get interested in fishing at 45 years old and had never done it before, would you just say "Well I've never done it before so I might as well just not.", No, you would go out and get your feet wet (pun intended). If you are interested in something and it brings you joy you might as well go for it and enjoy the ride. I tell every student that music isn’t about the destination its about the journey, and I guarantee if you put in a little bit of effort you'll never regret putting in the effort to learn!
